DALLAS, TX.- Pop-culture powerhouse Heritage Auctions and Screenbid, the world's best source for screen-used and studio-authenticated Hollywood memorabilia, announced Wednesday they have teamed up to present co-branded auctions featuring props, costumes and other memorabilia directly from some of the world’s biggest television and movie studios.

This new partnership leverages the respective strengths of both companies: Dallas-based Heritage Auctions will use its global reach in the entertainment-memorabilia marketplace to offer Screenbid’s extraordinary collection of keepsakes, which has spanned Breaking Bad, Mad Men and Veep to New Girl, Insecure and Silicon Valley.

“We can think of no better way to engage the fanbases for some of these modern classics than by being able to offer our collector-clients the opportunity to bring home these pieces of big- and small-screen magic,” says Joshua Benesh, Heritage Auctions’ Chief Strategy Officer. “We’re very excited about this extraordinary opportunity.”

“We’re thrilled to take Screenbid to the next level with the best-in-class Heritage Auctions,” says Screenbid Chairman Bill Block. “This partnership will make us the global go-to destination for authentic, one-of-a-kind Hollywood props and costumes.”

Screenbid made its high-profile debut in 2013 when it launched with an auction of Breaking Bad props that included meth-man Walter White’s 2004 Pontiac Aztek and his five-dollar copy of Leaves of Grass, which realized more than $65,000. Three years later, Screenbid again made headlines with its heralded Mad Men event, which saw Don Draper’s 1965 Cadillac Coup DeVille sell for nearly $40,000.

Heritage Auctions has twice partnered with Screenbid, beginning with May 2020’s auction of costumes, masks and props from the beloved Amazon Prime series The Tick. Seven months later, Heritage and Screenbid again suited up for an auction of sneakers, props and costumes from the HBO series Ballersstarring Dwayne Johnson.

Screenbid is currently offering costumes and props from Guy Ritchie’s acclaimed 2021 film The Wrath of Man, starring Jason Statham and the series Search Party, which just wrapped its fifth and final season on HBO Max.

Heritage and Screenbid will soon announce their first co-branded event: “We’re very eager to reveal our upcoming slate of auctions with Heritage,” says Block. But he does hint that future events will feature items from Ritchie’s upcoming Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, starring Statham, Josh Hartnett, Aubrey Plaza and Hugh Grant; and director Greg Mottola’s long-awaited adaptation of Gregory Mcdonald’s novel Confess, Fletch, which stars Jon Hamm in the role of investigative journalist Irwin Fletcher originally portrayed by Chevy Chase.

In the last year, Heritage Auctions has significantly expanded its entertainment memorabilia offerings – and set numerous world records along the way. In just the last year Heritage has offered the only phaser rifle made for the second Star Trek pilot “Where No Man Has Gone Before,” which sold for $615,000; Elton John’s touring Steinway, which realized $915,000; and George Reeves’ Superman costume from Adventures of Superman, which soared to $350,000.

Heritage’s next Hollywood & Entertainment Signature® Auction, to be held July 22-23, is another showstopper. The event will feature among its nearly 800 offerings a screen-matched Stormtrooper helmet from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, Jack Nicholson’s Joker costume from Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman and producer Joel Silver's Nebuchadnezzar production model from The Matrix.

“Heritage is already well on its way to becoming the world’s go-to auction house for iconic Hollywood memorabilia,” says Heritage Auctions Executive Vice President Joe Maddalena. “This relationship with Screenbid will help cement our status, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Bill, whose distinguished career has earned him widespread respect throughout Hollywood.”

Heritage and Screenbid’s partnership will allow both companies to expand their reach and increase their offerings, as new studios and streamers make available the props and costumes coveted by fans but long thought out of reach.

“The explosion in content and development in streaming have allowed fandom to develop in diverse marketplaces,” Benesh says, “and we look forward to being the source for these items that fire fans’ passions and curiosities.”
