eCommerce Companies are using Clipping Path Service to Boost Product Sale

Product photography is a must to promote any eCommerce products. Any type of consumer product, starting from shoes to consumer electronics, will require product images for marketing purposes. These product images go through few levels of photoshop editing before they get published on the eCommerce platforms. Clipping path service is one of the photoshop editing methods that is used often to make the product images marketable.

Why Clipping Path is Needed for Product Images
Product images that come out of photographers’ camera are not publish ready. No matter how skilled a photographer is and how long he or she has been shooting product images, output will still not be publish-ready.

All images have image backgrounds. Depending on the background used during photoshoot, the product images will have the same background on the image. This background will make the product image unfit to be published on the websites or any print media as print media background and product image background will not match. With the use of clipping path service, brand owners can edit out the image background from the product images.

How Clipping Path is Done
Clipping path service is done using Photoshop application. There are other photo editing tools out there that can be used to perform clipping path functions. However, most widely used program for running clipping path services is Adobe Photoshop.

An image is loaded on photoshop application during the clipping path process. Photoshop hand tool is selected to cut or clip the desired elements out of the image background. Once the clipping is done, it is then exported to another blank project and saved there. This newly saved clipped image will not have any unwanted background or unwanted elements. Only the desired part of the image will be clipped and exported.

Clipped images can be saved either on a white background or transparent background. Both service the same purpose. Only thing depends on is where they are published. By having a transparent background, image can be used on any platform on any background. Since most of the eCommerce platforms have white background. Most of the clipping path service providers are required to save the clipped images on white background.

Finding the Right Clipping Path Service Provider
There are many clipping path service providers out there. Finding the right service provider can be a bit challenging in one shot. Sometimes clients outsourcing their clipping path work move from one service provider to another till they find the right one. Some clipping path companies start off to be reliable, then slowly start to degrade in services. You need a professional clipping path company to be able to work with long term. A professional company will always deliver the edited images in a timely manner. Edit quality will always be top notch. Customer service will also be superior.

See if you can get a trial edit of clipping path done first before you hire the company. Negotiate price and get a commitment on the delivery time for the edited images. If the trial edit turns out to be OK, price matches your budget, delivery time is aligned with your company workflow – you can start working with the clipping path company.
