BURLINGTON, ON.- The Board of Directors of the
Art Gallery of Burlington announced the appointment of Ms. Emma Quin as AGBs next Executive Director (ED).
After a comprehensive national search, the Board has selected Ms. Quin to lead the organization at this important moment of transformation and as the AGB prepares to embark on its next strategic plan later this year. As ED, Ms. Quin will help lead the organization through the next phase of its evolution, where the AGB uses art to activate the creativity within individuals, organizations and communities to enhance wellness, spark innovation and build economic opportunity.
Ms. Quin comes to the AGB with 30 years of experience working with cultural, charitable, and not for profit organizations in Ontario, paired with deep knowledge of the arts and craft sector. Ms. Quin has been an active collaborator with AGB in the past and, most recently, Ms. Quin spent 5 years as CEO at the Textile Museum of Canada, where she led the museum through the development and execution of its Strategic Plan 2018-2021. Her leadership experience also includes over 20 years with Craft Ontario, including 9 years as its Executive Director/CEO. Ms. Quin brings significant experience in developing strong partnerships and stakeholder relationships, along with strong revenue generation experience spanning federal, provincial, municipal sources along with private sector donations to advance the mission of the organizations she has led.
Ms. Quin studied at the Ontario College of Art where she specialized in ceramics, followed by executive education at the McGill Executive Institute. Throughout her career to date, Ms. Quin has been a passionate promoter of community, education, and the arts and craft sector.
Ms. Quin will join the AGB in her new role on July 25, 2022.
