CHICAGO, IL.- The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago announces the appointment of Anslem Elumogo-Gardner as their first Chief of Staff.

Mr. Elumogo-Gardner, an expert in the nonprofit and philanthropic world, joins MCA Chicago with over ten years of management and business strategy experience.

"Anslem joining MCA Chicago is, in many ways, the perfect match. He has impactfully navigated the nonprofit world by marrying strategic planning, sustainability, and change management with mission and community building. And he has a deep understanding that cultural institutions must hold themselves accountable as leaders and catalysts for change." says Madeleine Grynsztejn, Pritzker Director.

As MCA's first Chief of Staff, Anslem will serve as a strategic partner to the museum's Pritzker Director, fostering collaboration across the museum by overseeing cross-functional strategic initiatives and special projects. He will lead project and process management and promote collaborative team integration throughout the museum.

He is dedicated to challenging systemic racism and closing the wealth gap through education, workforce development, and community building. He has built his career through a motivation to move missions forward, particularly those that drive systemic shifts, challenge the status quo, and build wealth for disinvested communities of color. He has successfully operated in the nonprofit sector by measuring and prioritizing outcomes and sustainability.

"I am honored and beyond excited by this unique opportunity to join such a diverse and historically rich institution to learn and work alongside Madeleine. We both share a passion for excellence and a common goal of creating greater change in education, nonprofits, and Chicago's arts and cultural landscape." Elumogo-Gardner.

Before joining the MCA Chicago, Elumogo-Gardner served as Vice President, Operations & Program Impact at the Greater Southwest Development Corporation and National Director of Programs at Momentum Advisory Collective. He received an MBA from the University of Denver and a B.A. in Sociology from Eastern Connecticut State University. He will join the MCA on July 11, 2022.
