NEW YORK, NY.- Lark Mason Associates announced that their Furniture, Fine and Decorative Arts on igavelauctions.com went live on September 22 through October 11. Among the 250 lots offered is an important collection of fine 18th century Venetian furniture and mid-20th century pieces by Eero Saarinen and Charles Eames. Running concurrently is Rugs and Carpets from the Collection of Barry MacLean, which goes live on October 4 to 22.

"We are delighted to present this eclectic sale of furniture, paintings and decorative arts, which dates from the 18th century through the mid-20th century,” says Lark Mason. “It’s rare to have such a fine quality group of Venetian furniture come up for sale.” According to Mason, the auction also includes a large selection of rugs as well as mid-century furniture. “This is an ideal opportunity for design aficionados s to acquire furnishings at accessible estimates.”




Among the highlights are a pair of 18th century Italian Console Tables, (Estimate: $8,000/12,000); a set of eight 18th century Venetian Italian Red and Gilt Chairs, (Estimate: $12,000/18,000); a Genovese Italian Burl Walnut and Fruitwood Bureau Bookcase, circa. 1740-1750 (Estimate: $10,000/15,000); a pair of Italian Venetian Carved Giltwood Girandole Mirrors, circa 1750-1760 (Estimate: $2,000/3,000); an 18th century Milanese Italian Giltwood Console with Faux Marble top (Estimate: $5,000/8,000); a pair of 18th century Italian, Red-Painted Consoles with Faux Marble Top (Estimate: $8,000/12,000); and an 18th century Italian Giltwood Mirror, circa. 1730-1740 (Estimate: $700/1,000).

Mid-twentieth century furniture designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll includes a yellow upholstered executive side chair (Estimate: $300/500) and a pair of armchairs and ottoman (Estimate: $500/800). Two modernist fiberglass shell chairs by Charles Eames for Herman Miller (Estimate: ($300-500) are also in the sale.

Additionally, the sale includes a woodcut by Albrecht Durer (1471-1528), called The Birth of the Virgin, Dated 1503 (Estimate: $1,500/2,500); an etching with a unique collage, by the Spanish artist Manolo Valdés (1942-), Meninas Infanta II, 1992 (Estimate: $7,000/10,000); and an Emerald-in-Matrix Intarsia Box by Konstantin Libman, the renown Russian lapidary artist (Estimate: $2,000/4,000).

Among the rugs and carpets are a late 19th century Bordjalou Kazak Wool Rug, Southwest Caucasus, (Estimate: $5,000/7,000; a Peking Blue Ground 5-clawed Dragon Decorated Wool Carpet, Qing Dynasty, ($3,000-5000); and a late 19th century Sultanabad Wool Carpet, West Persia, (Estimate: $6,000/8,000).
