NEW YORK, NY.- The Garment District Alliance announced the latest in its ongoing series of public art exhibits, showcasing local artists in a series of engaging window installations as part of a collaboration with Plugdin and Haus of Creators titled, Window of Opportunity.

Through October 6, artists, performers and creators are taking over the street-level window at 315 West 38th Street and showcasing their work through performances, workshops and creative displays. The collaboration is part of the Garment District Space for Public Art program, which showcases artists in unusual locations and over 16 years has produced more than 200 installations, exhibits and performances.

“We’re proud to bring a variety of talented artists to the Garment District as part of our collaboration with Plugdin and Haus of Creators,” said Barbara A. Blair, president of the Garment District Alliance. “Over several weeks, passersby have had the opportunity to witness the incredible work of these creators in an exciting new way, and we encourage folks to keep an eye out for the upcoming activations before the showcase comes to an end!”

Participating in the project are Devin Gilmartin and Tegan Maxey, founders of The Canvas, the only fashion retailer that offers rising ethical fashion brands access to global markets, and customers a unique mix of globally sourced and ethically created products; Alex Dabagh, a second generation leathersmith and the designer behind Made by Alex; Anna Molinari, a Gen Z fashion designer who makes sustainable garments out of unconventional materials; Piropo Flowers, a florist that utilizes flowers to advance causes of solidarity with the community to allow a more sustainable and inclusive planet; and Club Bum, an artist and designer.

Previously featured as part of the Window of Opportunity collaboration in the Garment District were:

• Singer, rapper, songwriter, and model RillyRil , who performed her song “YUH?” for a live audience on the street

• Designer and creator of Kimasu, Kiara Suero, who sewed and sold her signature bucket hats in real time to passersby in the Garment District

• One-of-a-kind couture designer Martina Dietrich Couture (MDC) and artist Debra Rapoport , who teamed up to host a “More with Less” workshop, where they showed participants how to transform zero-waste mixed materials into neckpieces and bracelets

• Haus of Creators is a creative agency specializing in digital marketing, creative design, and production. The agency takes pride in working with a wide range of mainstream talent and brands within the music, fashion, tech and entertainment industries. By incorporating visual design and content marketing to produce print, 2D, 3D, AI, NFTs and other opportunities within creative tech, Haus of Creators develops brands’ visual presence and overall identity in the most unique way.

The Garment District is home to diverse business sectors from technology to hospitality and includes thousands of people working in the creative economy, including fine and performing artists, designers, architects, photographers and more than a hundred theaters, galleries, performance spaces and studios.
