"TransATLantic 2005" Elevates Cross-Cultural Ties
TransATLantic 2005.

ATLANTA, GA.-TransATLantic was first presented last year by GALLERY twenty-four in Berlin featuring a group exhibition of emerging artists from Atlanta. TransATLantic has since developed into an annual bi-directional cultural event between the two cities. TransATLantic 2005 offers the opportunity to politically and socially advance cultural ties through art, by encouraging the development, exchange and presentation of creative ideas. Artist in Residence International (AIRI), Be Original @ Miami Circle in Atlanta and GALLERY twenty-four in Berlin, Germany have organized this event.

TransATLantic 2005 is a group exhibition of four emerging artists from Berlin, Germany. They are Uwe Behrens, Bojan Hocevar, Christa Nagel and Pablo Reese von Lichtenberg. One Berlin artist of the exhibition will also be chosen to receive the AIRI Artist in Residence Award, a 2-4 week residency in Atlanta. In addition, artwork from Atlanta “alumni” artists will also be featured in this exhibition. These artists include Yun Bai, Laura Bell, Jeff Doud, Grady Haugerud, Scott Lawrence, Andrew Lovell, Mandie Turner Mitchell, Jeromie Neidlinger, Sasha Igenue Patton and Heather Stevens Weese.

The opening reception for TransATLantic 2005 will take place November 5th from 7:00-10:00pm at Be Original @ Miami Circle gallery. The exhibition dates are November 5 - November 30, 2005. Be Original @ Miami Circle gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm and is located at 800 Miami Circle, Suite 210, Atlanta, GA 30324.
