LONDON.- Marco Brambilla's monumental new work, Heaven's Gate, will be on view for the first time in Europe at Outernet London, the largest digital exhibition space on the continent beginning January 22nd and running until February 26th. The exhibition will take place in The Now Building, a state-of-the-art immersive space featuring 23,000 square feet of floor-to-ceiling, 360-degree, 16K screens across four stories.

Heaven's Gate, the latest in Brambilla's Megaplex series, presents the spectacle of the Hollywood dream factory as a panoramic video collage, in which viewers ascend through psychedelic landscapes of looping samples of iconic moments in cinematic history. The work both celebrates and satirizes pop culture, immersing the viewer in a hyper-saturation of imagery that is almost impossible to sustain.

"I was initially approached to show this work in the space, which led to my curating the Arts program," said Brambilla. "I was able to invite artists whose work I admire to show new works in this exciting recently launched space. I'm thrilled to be presenting 'Heaven's Gate' in a context which will embrace the spectacle intrinsic to the concept of the work and now also in its presentation."

Outernet Arts is dedicated to uniting an international network of established and emerging artists through commissions that investigate the complex concept of the media space. Through artist-led projects, the organization aims to prompt larger conversations around our lives in a world dominated by the digital era.

The opening is on Sunday, January 22, 2023, 12 pm-6 pm at The Now Building.
The exhibition will be open every Sunday, 12 pm-6 pm, until February 26th.

Brambilla (b. 1960, Milan, Italy) works and lives in London and Paris. He has held solo exhibitions in museums and institutions around the world and is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, Guggenheim Museum (New York); San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; ARCO Foundation (Madrid); and the Corcoran Gallery of Art (Washington D.C). Notable shows include New Museum, New York; Santa Monica Museum of Art (Retrospective); Seoul Biennial, Korea; Broad Art Museum; and Borusan Contemporary, Istanbul; Kunsthalle Bern, Switzerland. Brambilla has worked with Creative Time and Art Production Fund in New York to present public art installations, including his Nude Descending Staircase No.3 (2019) presented at Oculus WTC by Art Production Fund during Frieze New York. Brambilla is a recipient of the Tiffany Comfort Foundation and Tiffany Colbert Foundation awards. His work has been featured at the Venice Film Festival and Sundance Film Festivals, as well as Fondation Beyeler in Basel, Switzerland.
