HONG KONG.- In celebration of “Hong Kong Arts Month”, Poly Auction Hong Kong is pleased to announce the Spring Auctions will take place at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong from 1 to 6 April. The curated auction sales will offer an exquisite array of art pieces with inheritance value and market potential.

Led by Yoshitomo Nara’s Acid M. J. and the most sought-after red pumpkin and infinity nets works by Yayoi Kusama, the Modern and Contemporary Art Department will bring the hottest art line-up and encapsulates a century of Asian art history at a time. The Magnificent Jewels and Important Watches Department will bring an avant-garde vision of collection and present a superb series of precious treasures – distinguished by A Jadeite And Diamond Pendant Necklace and A Very Fine And Rare 23.49 Carat Burmese “Royal Blue” Sapphire And Diamond Ring, By Van Cleef & Arpels – all set to dazzle this Spring Auctions. At the same time, the Noble Handbags and Hype Collectibles Department will once again offer a remarkable collection of handbags with full potential, including the crowd favourite, A Limited Edition Mauve Sylvestre, Chai, Nata & Lime Epsom Leather Kellydole Picto and many more. The Rare Wine, Whisky and Chinese Tea Department is honoured to offer Hanyu Ichiro’s Malt Card Full Set, Kweichow Moutai 1959, Seven Pieces of Vintage Pu’er Tea Cakes, 1950s with superior quality, indulging all collectors’ palate. In addition, the auction highlights of Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy revealed earlier have successfully gained the collector’s full attention. The Taipei Preview at Breeze Exhibition Centre will be held between 18 and 19 March, exhibiting a collection of rare and exquisite treasures to kick start this Spring Auctions.

Modern and Contemporary Art

The Modern and Contemporary Art Sale will bring a strong line of contemporary artists – Led by Yoshitomo Nara’s one-and- only depiction of the King of Pop Michael Jackson, Acid M.J. In addition, Yayoi Kusama’s rare large-scale painting of red Pumpkin and gold-and-silver Infinity Nets, along with Yoshitomo Nara’s first FRP sculpture created Cup Kids and Ayako Rokkaku’s Little Girl with Animals will be offered. Together, they converge to become a strong force of Japanese contemporary artists for this upcoming auction. In addition, the auction will offer a range of first-generation oil paintings by Chinese artists, including a large scale work by Liu Guosong, and a rare piece of work by Yuan Jai, to name a few. In addition, a feature of young contemporary Chinese artists such as Liu Wei, Wei Jia, and Zhang Yingnan will also be presented, which is definitely an occasion one cannot miss.

Magnificent Jewels and Important Watches

The Magnificent Jewels and Important Watches Department is ushering in a new start in 2023. This Spring Auctions, our specialist team is pleased to present about 200 exceptional lots, including a selection of precious jadeites, diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, rubies and other magnificent jewels, as well as prestigious watches. Jewellery highlights include A Jadeite and Diamond Pendant Necklace and A Very Fine and Rare 23.49 Carat Burmese’ Royal Blue’ Sapphire and Diamond Ring, By Van Cleef & Arpels. As for the important watches section, Jacob & Co. The dedicated session on luxury handbags and accessories will feature a collection with over 140 rare handbags from all over the world, including A Rare Matte White Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile Kelly 25, A Rare Fauve Barenia Leather & Platanus Perspective Cavaliere Kellywood 22, A Limited Edition Rouge De Coeur Swift Leather & Osier Mini Picnic Kelly, as well as A Limited Edition Mauve Sylvestre, Chai, Nata & Lime Epsom Leather Kellydole Picto. This Spring Auctions, the Rare Wine, Whisky and Chinese Tea Department will present over 400 precious items including Kweichow Moutai, Fine Wines & Rare Spirits and Rare Pu’er Tea for wine and tea collectors from around the world as a celebration of the full resumption of normal travel. Highlights include Hanyu Ichiro’s Malt Card Full set, Seven Pieces of Vintage Pu’er Tea Cakes, 1950s and Kweichow Moutai 1959.
