Altered States at the Taipei Museum of Fine Arts |

TAIPEI.- The Taipei Museum of Fine Arts opens the exhibit Altered States. The exhibition of Altered States is schemed by the art commentator and independent programmer Ms Amy Huei-hua Cheng , who has collected artworks from dozens of international and local artists. These artworks present the traditional society boundary between the visible, invisible, and the multifaceted situations of life though video clips, sound, decorations and the other materials so they´re grounded on the reality of life. On one hand this exhibition presents individual´s inner exploration and explores the mass consciousness of time and capacity of memory; on the other hand, it proposes the observation of subtlety and invisibility, reverses people´s views and thoughts of the instant, and re-interprets the traditional vision of life with artists´ new aspects.
This exhibition displays six Taiwan´s artists: Wang Jun-jieh, Lin Chi-wei, Xu Ya-zhu, Chen Chieh-jen, Yeh Wei-li, Wu Yu-xin; and four foreign artists: Donna Conlon, Rodney Graham, Antonia Hirsch, and Anri Sala.
This exhibition is one of the plans of the Production Grants to Independent Curators in Visual Arts by National Culture and Arts Foundation and is sponsored by Quanta Culture & Education Foundation.
