TEHRAN, IRAN.- The countries of Mexico and Iran have made an agreement for Iran to hold an exhibition on the civilizations of the Mayas and Incas at the National Museum of Iran. Meanwhile, “The 10,000-Year History and Civilization of Iran” exhibition will open in Mexico in late summer, the Persian service of CHN reported on Sunday.

National Museum of Iran curator Mohammadreza Kargar said that the artifacts to be displayed have been selected and are ready to be sent to Mexico.

CHN reported that, “We have chosen the last week of summer for the opening of the exhibition, but the exact date is yet to be announced,” Kargar added.

The organizers will arrive in Iran to transfer the items to Mexico by the end of August.

“The exhibit will be held in one of Mexico City’s major museums and will include artworks dating from prehistoric times to the Qajar era,” the news service reported

Since the National Museum of Iran is currently being renovated, the Mexican exhibit has been postponed.
