LONG BEACH, CA.- The Long Beach Museum of Art presents the third annual Artisans Market on Saturday and Sunday, August 26 – 27, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Museum’s bluff-top gardens located at 2300 East Ocean Boulevard. More than 60 exceptional California artists from across the decorative arts field will sell their work during this two-day event. The Artisans Market at the Museum provides an excellent opportunity for shoppers and collectors to find new works by emerging artists, as well as collectibles from leading artists in their respective fields. A $5 per person admission fee to enter the Museum grounds includes admission into Artisans Market, Claire’s at the Museum, the Museum Store and current exhibitions, Made in China: Export Porcelain from the Leo and Doris Hodroff Collection at Winterthur, Portraits of a People: Picturing African Americans in the Nineteenth Century and the long-term installation, Greene & Greene in Long Beach.

Live demonstrations by featured artists will take place on both Saturday and Sunday. The South Coast Weavers from Orange County will demonstrate a variety of weaving techniques including loom weaving, spinning wheel with drop spindle, triangle loom and basket weaving. Lillian Todaro of Todaro Designs, who specializes in making intricate beadwork jewelry, will demonstrate the technique used to make a single drop peyote bracelet. Additional demonstrations by jewelry designers, wood turners, glass artists and ceramists will take place throughout the weekend.

Bill Madison & Music in the Moment will provide entertainment on Saturday, August 26 from noon – 2 pm. Kerry Loeschen and Three’s Company, a jazz trio featuring trombone, bass and guitar, take the stage on Sunday, August 27 from noon – 2 p.m.
