Sala Festival Ends in South Australia
Participants of SALA Festival.

ADELAIDE.- The Art Gallery of South Australia presented The Sala Festival. While the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival grows from strength to strength each year (and as we head into our ninth year), we hope this site will be an ongoing and invaluable resource for anyone interested in the visual artists of South Australia.

SALA Inc is a not for profit Incorporated body that runs the SALA Festival (a totally free event) and promotes an active audience development and educational role. If you appreciate creativity in all its forms we invite you to encourage others to view this site and better yet visit a gallery, take part in a walking art tour, listen to one of the artist talks, or watch some of the great moving image events in the Festival.Let's support and celebrate the talent and diversity of visual artists who live and work in South Australia.

During the two weeks of the SALA Festival, visual artists, groups and collectives from across the state present exhibits, displays and installations to the general public. Audiences are invited to come and view a vast array of paintings, sculptures, craft and performance art that forms just a fraction of what is on offer during the Festival.

The SALA Festival is a free event, ensuring everybody has the opportunity of attending a vast selection of exhibitions, open studios, walking art tours and workshops.Furthermore, venues are located across the State, so that everyone has the opportunity of participating in, or, attending an event, regardless of where they lived.

The 2006 SALA Festival will involve 300 venues across the state showcasing over 330 exhibitions involving approximately 1400 artists.
