WEST SUSSEX, UK.- Californian based artists Dana Lynne Andersen and Annie Harrison have joined forces with UK Sculptor, Ginger Gilmour to launch a powerful new artistic movement. Renowned Artist, Dana Lynne Andersen said, It is a critical time in our planets history and it is crucial that the arts return to high purpose. If Art is only for Arts Sake then anything goes, but IF we are interested in serving humanity and meeting the crisis of our times with greater consciousness, THEN it matters very much what kind of art we produce or experience. Andersen advocates Art on purpose, referring to work that is deliberate in its intention to serve humanity. Andersen founded Awakening Arts Network, a global resource nexus connecting artists throughout the world who are engaged in creating art that is evolutionary and transformative.
Andersen met Ginger Gilmour at the Inspirational Arts Festival in Chelsea, London and the two have since been collaborating in a passionate mission to weld the power of art to change consciousness. Ginger Gilmour, former partner of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, has been a tour de force for change in the UK. Says Gilmour, Our society is plagued by art that does not nourish, elevate or liberate the soul aspect of the viewer and this is something that simply has to be addressed. Ginger takes her own role as a sculptor and artist very seriously; my consistent focus is to bring forth images, forms and spaces that uplift, inspire and invoke beauty in the true sense of the word. Her own work, both monumental and sublime, exudes a sense of simplicity and refinement.
Annie Harrison, who joins Andersen and Gilmour for their first collaborative exhibition Zeitgeist Spirit of the Times is a highly sought after California based artist who uses sacred geometry to create engaging, ethereal water sculptures. According to Harrison Great power can be achieved by uniting with others who share a vision which seeks to unite and uplift humanity.
The group, all of who are successful artists in their own right are working together to galvanize a renaissance of art with conscience and consciousness. Ironically they are pushing boundaries by advocating a return to centre. According to Andersen, the contemporary art worlds pursuit of the cutting edge has led to a contest of shock value. When work comes from the centre rather the 'edge, it becomes the polestar that can guide us back on course.
Andersen, Gilmour and Harrison herald a renaissance. Three women, upholding the historical task of the artist as a conduit of beauty and revelation, remind us of the noble role that art can play in the world.
