VIENNA.- The first edition of paper positions vienna concluded this past Sunday. The Viennese audience showed great interest in the fair's focus on paper, approaching the unique features of more than 80 artistic positions with curiosity and enthusiasm.
Over the four days, positive feedback flowed from both gallery owners and visitors. Many praised the open, salon-like atmosphere, which sharpened the focus and allowed galleries to present works and formats rarely showcased at fairs. There was a strong willingness to embrace solo presentations, include smaller formats, and feature emerging talents, resulting in a consistently high quality of the works and displays. Some galleries exhibited paper works by artists better known for their objects, sculptures, or canvases, creating a rare and expansive sense of intimacylike peeking behind the curtain of a familiar oeuvre.
Once again, it became evident how well the bright, open space complements the medium of paper. Over the course of the fair, new connections were forged, particularly for galleries presenting their artists in Vienna for the first time.
"paper positions is a very beautiful, small fair format with a wonderful atmosphere and a dedicated team. The successful debut in Vienna gives hope for many more editions here. The numerous Austrian exhibitors also contributed to the fairs consistently high attendance, leading to many sales during the premiere. We will definitely be back." Extremely pleased with the outcome of its Vienna debut, the paper positions team looks back with gratitude and is grateful to all visitors, exhibitors, and artists who helped maintain the high quality and vibrant atmosphere of the first paper positions vienna.
paper positions vienna 2024 demonstrated that the fair's focus on paper resonates well beyond national borders, attracting enthusiastic visitors and active buyers. The debut in Vienna was a resounding success, and we are already looking forward to the second edition in 2025!
"The inaugural edition of paper positions in Vienna was very well received by visitors. The consistently high quality of the works on display and the boutique fair's clear and manageable format were particularly appreciated. Paper Positionstook place in a challenging environmentVienna has already hosted many art fairs this year, and the current economic news isnt exactly uplifting. Despite this, the fair performed well and made a strong initial impression. I assume the organizers will take away some valuable lessons to continue developing Paper Positions successfully for 2025."
