NEW YORK, NY.- Forum Gallery is presenting 25 New Works for the New Year, an exhibition featuring exceptional paintings and drawings by seventeen of Forum Gallery’s contemporary artists. The exhibition continues through Saturday, March 29, 2025.

New from Maine-based artist Linden Frederick is a panoramic scene painting featuring an iconic Penobscot Bay viewpoint. Rich in atmosphere and details, the composition elicits complex feelings without the need for narrative. Wade Schuman’s latest works depict fauna of Maine in acrylic and ballpoint pen, expressions emerging from his mother’s “very New England obsession with birds…and toads.” A new acrylic and watercolor over monotype by Alan Magee depicts a dolmen constructed from the giant stones of Pemaquid set in a fantastical field.

Two brand new larger-than-life drawings in charcoal and colored pencil by Clio Newton honoring women and ethereal in beauty are on view alongside a prescient expression of humanity by Steven Assael; mysterious narrative paintings by Paul Fenniak; and a psychologically-charged figurative oil by Alyssa Monks.

Rance Jones has created three new watercolors depicting scenes of daily life in Cuba and Israel with the sensitivity, empathy and remarkable technique that distinguishes his work; while a drawing of Spanish friars by Madrid-based Guillermo Muñoz Vera compels our attention and curiosity.

The gallery presents a brand-new abstract oil by Brian Rutenberg vibrating with rich color and evocative of the low-country landscape of his childhood in South Carolina. New works by William Beckman include a pastel recalling his family farm in rural Minnesota, as well as a new midsized oil painting featuring the landscape of his current home in Dutchess County, New York.

G. Daniel Massad’s new pastel utilizes his specific artistic vocabulary wherein a structure of stone blocks stands against a profoundly black background setting the stage for a display of carefully arranged and intriguing objects. Meanwhile, two new charcoals by Anthony Mitri reflect sights seen during recent travels to Greenwich Village; and tempera works by Robert Bauer recall Californian landscapes observed by the Artist and rendered with sublime subtlety.

Toronto-based Cybèle Young, known for her meticulously made Japanese paper sculptures inspired by the fleeting aspects of everyday life, and Jane Lund, who in recent times has created a series of paper cutout dresses collaged with themed objects from the Artist’s personal collections recalling family memories, are represented by whimsical works that are sure to delight!
