Gallery Henoch opens two solo shows
Kevin Palme, OBELISK, MOONLIGHT, Oil on canvas, 55 x 34 in., 139.7 x 86.4 cm.

NEW YORK, NY.- Gallery Henoch presents Bouncing Forward, a solo show featuring a series of works by Annette Davidek. The show will run from March 13th to April 5th, 2025.

The exhibition features oil paintings that draw inspiration from the natural world. Inspired by Asian art and botanical diagrams, Davidek incorporates these elaborate forms into her paintings. The repeated motifs can be seen throughout the entire body of work. Each shape is layered over the other through the application of transparent glazes of oil paint, resulting in a juxtaposition of luminous color. Davidek's unique approach to color draws inspiration from plant life, yet she aims to push the boundaries of nature by creating bold and surprising compositions, as in her piece #24-19 where the vibrant yellow acts as a sheer background for contrasting shapes with varying levels of opacity.

Annette Davidek lives and works Brooklyn, New York. This is her second solo show with the gallery. The exhibition runs concurrent to a show of new oil paintings by Kevin Palme.

Gallery Henoch also presents a selection of recent painting by Kevin Palme. The show will run from March 13 to April 5, 2025.

In this newest series of oil paintings, Palme portrays towers of ice cubes in hyperrealist detail. Inspired by ancient colonnades, Palme explores the impermanence of matter. He conceives of his icy structures as explorations of fragility, designed to melt. “Standing alone against indeterminate spaces…they serve as a memorial to things destined not to last.”

Kevin Palme lives and works in Asheville, North Carolina. He has participated in exhibitions across the country and is featured in private collections globally. Palme earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design. This exhibit runs concurrent to Annette Davidek’s solo show Bouncing Forward.
