INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA.- The Herron Gallery at the Herron School of Art & Design presents Technology of Meaning, on view through November 26, 2006. This exhibit examines the work of five contemporary artists - Ruth Adams, Frank Burton, Alison Carey, Tarrah Krajnak and T. A. Trombley. Each uses photographic technologies to produce some degree of meaning in their work. All of the artists included push the bounds of technology, and share a belief that photography's meaning is both hidden within and revealed by the technologies they employ to create their art.

Since its founding in 1979, the Herron Gallery has been one of Indianapolis' most distinctive art galleries. Specializing in contemporary art, it long ago established a reputation as the kind of gallery where experimental shows were the norm and off-the-wall ideas were encouraged.

The mission of the Herron Gallery is to complement and complete the educational goals of the Herron School of Art and Design. To fulfill this mission, the gallery serves as a community and regional forum for the evolving discussion of contemporary art and culture. Visitors to this non-profit, visual art gallery are exposed to works of art created by regional, national, and international artists. Recent exhibitions in the Eleanor Prest Reese and Robert B. Berkshire Galleries have included notable artists such as Robert Rauschenberg, Darryl Pottorf, Cynthia Pachikara, Don Gummer, Robert Lostutter, and even rocker John Mellencamp.
