NEW YORK, NY.- Christies kicked off Luxury Week on 9 June with Important Watches Featuring Stories in Time: A Collection of Exceptional Watches. The sale saw exceptional results, realizing $11 Million and selling 97% by lot, showcasing strength across all levels. The top lot, which was sold to an online buyer, was a signed Patek Philippe, Perpetual Calendar Minute Repeater Ref. 3974R, which achieved $1.2 Million. The sale saw vibrant participation, with bidders and buyers in the room, on the phones, and online. Clients came globally, with 46% of the bids coming from Americas, 26% from Asia Pacific and 28% from EMEA. Strong demand was seen for high-quality vintage timepieces with exceptional provenance as well as creations by independent watchmakers, including FP Journe and Greubel Forsey.
Additional top lots include a F.P. Journe Octa Calendrier 'Black Label' which achieved three times its low estimate, totaling $453,600, a Richard Mille Tourbillon RM74-02, which made $378,000, and a Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30° Edition Historique from Stories in Time: A Collection of Exceptional Watches which realized $390,600.

Throughout the sale, impressive results were also achieved for bracelet watches, led by important designs such as a 1970 Bulgari Serpenti Scaglie Ref. 7728, which sold for $277,200nearly four times its low estimate of $70,000. Additional highlights included a Patek Philippe Gold & Diamond Bracelet Watch Ref. 2136-1, which achieved $52,920, also four times its low estimate, and a Franck Muller Master Banker Rosé No. 1⁄5 Bracelet Watch, formerly the property of Elizabeth Taylor, which sold for $81,900more than ten times its high estimate.
