MADRID.- Madrid is set to become a major meeting point for contemporary art with Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend, celebrating its 16th edition from 11 to 14 September 2025. This year, particularly significant in coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Arte Madrid, will mark the beginning of the art season with the participation of the 55 galleries that form part of the Art Galleries Association of Madrid.

For sixteen years, Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend — which in its last edition attracted over 24,000 visitors — has grown exponentially to become an event not to be missed, set around the proposals of established and emerging national and international galleries.

Established as a focal point in the artistic and cultural calendar of the city, Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend will over the course of four days shine a spotlight on contemporary art at various points in the city, thanks to an exhibition offer that seeks to bring art closer to the general public and strengthen dialogue with other cultural disciplines. As is the case every year, all of the galleries associated with Arte Madrid will unveil their exhibitions simultaneously and with extended opening hours.

This year, the garden of the Lázaro Galdiano Museum will become a new venue for Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend, thanks to a sculpture exhibition featuring 14 artists represented by galleries that are part of the Arte Madrid Association. Thoughtfully arranged throughout the Parque Florido garden, the exhibition will invite visitors to explore the entire garden, including some of its lesser-known areas.
