FORT WORTH, TX.- The Fort Worth Community Arts Center presents Alice Reynolds and Her Circle, on view through Saturday February 17, 2007. Alice Reynolds, a friend and colleague of the Fort Worth Circle, was best known as the co-founder of the Fort Griffin Fandangle in Albany, Texas. As costume and set designer, she was responsible for the look and feel of this small-town prairie pageant, which drew favorable mention from the New York Times. As music director, she played for every rehearsal and performance for 45 years, and wrote or co-wrote much of the music.

Reynolds also produced a body of art in the Regionalist tradition of her time, focusing on the everyday life of her own pioneer ancestors. A painstaking craftsman, she studied in New Orleans, New York, Cape Cod, Guatemala, and Taos. Her mural design for the post office mural in Robstown, Texas, was exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. Her work was also shown at the Art Students League.
