GLEN COVE, NY.- Roland Auctions NY presented their Saturday, June 27th, 2026 Multi-Estates Auction, being their first of the summer season, with a special selection of Contemporary and Fine Art, along with a superb collection of carved Chinese Jade objects, all turning out to be the top sellers at the auction.

Of course, lots in all other areas, from various prominent estates, had a prominent presence as well, including Sculpture, Decorative Arts, 20th Century Modern, Antique & Vintage Furniture, Textiles, Silver, Gold and Silver Jewelry, Rugs, Collectibles and Lighting.

In keeping with Roland’s always strong sales in Contemporary and Fine Art, the top lot of the day was an After Joan Miro ceramic art disk rondel, 1956, with Artigas pottery mark to reverse with Miro. [8" H x 8.25" W], selling for $19,500, while a Grant Wood (American, 1891-1942) "Doorway - Cluny Museum Paris," oil on board, likely from early in Wood's career, signed Grant Wood to lower right, with an additional inscription "Abbey Door, Paris," to reverse, accompanied by supporting documentation from Hirschl & Adler Galleries. [Framed: 16" H x 19.25" W; work: 13" H x 16" D], sold for $8450. Also, an Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze (1816-1868) Oil on canvas of an interior scene of figures surrounding a man reading a book on lectern. Signed lower left and dated 1864. Boulle work frame of openwork metal on wood frame. [32.5 x 25.5"; 44" x 38"], went for $7800 and a Richard Hambleton (Canada, 1952-2017) Untitled (Shadow Bust) acrylic on paper, 1984, signed and dated in graphite to lower, in a frame, with Portico New York label affixed to verso. [Framed: 25.5" H x 20" W]. Sold for $6500.


Flemish Baroque Victory Memorial Tapestry. Sold for $8450.

Other notable art included a rare Flemish Baroque Victory Memorial Tapestry, Flemish Baroque tapestry, 17th/18th century, likely produced in Flanders or Brussels, in commemoration of victory, inscribed Sangvineos Animos Mavoris Gloria Tangit to crest at upper, with a figure being crowned with laurels, and surrounded by an intricately woven border decorated with cherubs, fruit, and flowers, apparently unmarked, later backed with burlap. [112" H x 123" W]. Condition is good with age-commensurate minor wear and fading. From the private collection of Dr. Geoffrey Scott Carroll, which sold for $8450, a Thomas Yeomans (British 1805 - 1860), oil on canvas study of 3 hounds in yard. "Rose, Rocket & Fanny". Signed lower right and dated 1825. [20" x 27"; 25" x 32"], sold for $3900 and an Attributed to Petrus van Schendel (Belgium/Brussels, 1806-1870) oil on canvas with figures in candlelight, signed and dated 1851 to lower, in a frame. [Framed: 65" H x 56" W]. From the private collection of Dr. Geoffrey Scott Carroll, sold for $3575.

An exquisite collection of Chinese Jade objects also came in as top sellers at the auction, with a Chinese Jade Vase with Dragon, 20th century, with a four-clawed dragon. [5" H x 2.5" W x 1.5" D], sold for $13,000, a Chinese Carved Jade Zun Vase on Stand, Chinese carved jade zun vase, 20th century, with two handles, on a wooden stand. [7.5" H x 6.5" W x 4.25" D], sold for $12,350, a Chinese Carved Jade Brush Washer, Chinese carved jade brush washer, 19th century, with three wells set as fruit and joined by a foliate carved border. [1" H x 7" W x 4.5" D] went for $5525 and three Carved Jade Snuff Bottles sold for $4550.


Gold Woven Bracelet, 18K gold woven or braided link bracelet, Sold for $8450.

Jewelry at Roland also did well, with a Gold Woven Bracelet, 18K gold woven or braided link bracelet, marked 18K. [57 dwt., 7.25" L]. Property from the family of Leonard Bernstein, sold for $8450, while in Mid-Century furniture, an Eames for Herman Miller Lounge Chair and Ottoman, 1976, with tufted leather and a plywood and metal frame with rosewood veneer, marked Herman Miller to label under ottoman, and Herman Miller to underseat of chair. Sold for $3,250.
