Painting for Pups - North County Humane Society

OCEANSIDE, CA.- The North County Humane Society & SPCA’s (NCHS) first annual “Paws to Celebrate” summer gala on June 30 is fast approaching. A generous donation by nationally renowned artist and Oceanside resident Steve Barton to the gala’s silent auction is sure to peak the interest of art collectors far and wide. Barton has donated a limited edition piece “Island Paradise”.

“Steve’s generous donation reflects his altruistic spirit which is visible just by looking at any of his pieces,” said NCHS Executive Director Julie Bank. “His designs reflect a piece of paradise anyone, whether man or animal, would love to be a part of.

Originally from New Hampshire , Barton studied art at the acclaimed Rhode Island School of Design. His crisp elegant strokes fuse splashes of blues and greens across the canvas depicting soothing beachfronts, a signature of Barton casual yet elegant style. Barton will paint the auction winner’s animal onto the piece truly making it a one of a kind.

“Paws to Celebrate” is being held at the South Mesa SNCO Club at Camp Pendleton . Join Honorary Committee Co-Event Chairs Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood and Vista Mayor Morris Vance for an evening of dinner theatre. The black-tie optional gala will include a performance of “Joey and Maria’s Comedy Italian Wedding”, a silent auction, and a cocktail reception. Shelter supporters can buy tickets online at www.nchumane.org, or by calling (760) 757-4357 ext. 1230. Gala tickets are $125 per person, or $1000 for a table of 8. VIP Tickets are $225, or $1800 for a table of 8.
