PHILADELPHIA, PA.- Ed Bronstein celebrates nearly a decade of painting Bartram’s Garden with a solo show in Philadelphia’s oldest barn. The show will be open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. through September 27, 2007 (closed, Saturday September 15). There will be an opening reception on September 7, 2007 from 5-7 p.m. at Bartram’s Garden’s, Bartram Barn, 54th Street and Lindbergh Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19143, www.bartramsgarden.org. Bronstein discovered a wealth of visual material in this quiet corner of southwest Philadelphia along the Schuylkill River. In this show, intimate interiors of the Bartram House hang side-by-side with panoramic refinery views. Evocative garden vistas are juxtaposed against looming depictions of Philadelphia industry, past and present. “I paint what I see around me because the light hits it a certain way, and because it says something to me about life, history, beauty, or in some cases humor." Bronstein will donate 25% of the show’s proceeds to Bartram’s Garden, America’s oldest living botanic garden.
