Major Everett Gee Jackson Retrospective Opens |

SAN DIEGO, CA.-November kicks off with a major retrospective of works by Everett Gee Jackson, San Diego's most important Modernist artist. Running from November 3, 2007, through January 27, 2008, Everett Gee Jackson/San Diego Modern, 1920-1955 features more than 50 works that span the most significant and productive decades of the artist's career. In conjunction with the exhibition, Dr. Seth Mallios, associate professor of anthropology at SDSU, will present a lecture on Wednesday, November 28. In "Uncovering Local Art and Industry: The Discovery of Hidden WPA Murals at SDSU," Mallios will discuss his recent discovery of a WPA mural painted by Jackson's students.
