CALIFORNIA, PA.-
An exhibition from one of the Top 40 Corporate Art Collections in the world is currently being displayed at California University of Pennsylvanias Manderino Gallery of Fine Art.
The Cal U show titled Reflections on Southern Living runs through November 18 and expresses a compelling story of the south through a careful selection of twenty five photographic works. Showcasing a variety of pieces from significant historical photographs to well known modern contemporary artists, the theme provides thought provoking appreciation of this art form as well as telling a tale.
The Atlanta law firm Arnall Golden Gregory LLP has been listed by ArtReview magazine among the top 40 businesses in the world for corporate art collections. The honor places AGG in the company of JP Morgan Chase and UBS, whose collections are renowned in the art world.
We consider inclusion in ArtReviews list a huge honor, said Bertram L. Levy, head of AGGs art committee and chairman of the firms Private Wealth Practice. Being placed in an elite group by a respected international publication reflects Arnall Golden Gregorys commitment to quality not only in art but also in the legal services we provide.
Sold in 24 countries, the London-based ArtReview is a leading magazine of international contemporary art, photography and architecture. The writers also single out photographs from Edward Weston, Walker Evans and Irving Penn all of whom are represented in the universitys current exhibition.
Additional works range from the famous Annie Leibovitz portraits to Charles Moores world recognized original photograph of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.s arrest in Montgomery Alabama in 1958. Internationally renowned modern photographer Angela West is also among those highlighted. She has works featured in The Smithsonians Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington DC as well as the prestigious High Museum of Art in Atlanta Georgia.
In her large color photographs, emerging Georgia artist Angela West seeks to reveal the extraordinary among the ordinary.
Located on the third floor of the Manderino Library on the Cal U campus, the Gallery of Fine Art is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays and is closed on Fridays.
