PORTLAND, ME.- On Monday, July 7, the Portland Museum of Art will break ground on a landscape and parking project on the Museums adjacent lot at 87 Spring Street. Designed by the Portland landscape architecture firm of Mohr & Seredin, the property will feature parking for staff along with trees and native plantings to provide ground cover. Birch trees will be planted in three grids along Spring Street. Each grid represents a house lot that included a stately residence during the 19th century. This is an interim plan for the property, while the Museum undergoes a long-range planning process to determine the best use of the property. The project will be completed by Labor Day.
