Eleventh Annual Edition Artists' Book Fair Opens in New York

NEW YORK.- This fall marks the 11th annual Editions| Artists’ Book Fair (E|AB), where 64 contemporary art dealers and publishers from six countries will present thousands of art works to the viewing public. As the longest running FREE to the public art fair, E|AB offers artworks for sale that range in price from $20 to $500,000. Located inside the Tunnel, the former nightclub will be transformed from October 30 to November 2 into an exhibition of contemporary prints, multiples, and artists’ books by the world’s leading artists. Free events scheduled throughout the fair will provide insights for art lovers and budding collectors. Programs of note include talks by artists Richard Tuttle and James Siena, a print-making demonstration of a Michelle Obama portrait by Mickalene Thomas and symposia on the future of the print market. Additional highlights include an on-site book project from Jason Polan, 100 PEOPLE I SAW AT THE EDITIONS|ARTISTS’ BOOK FAIR; an issue release wrapping party for an artist project from Allora & Calzadilla; a lounge furnished by Kartell, and food by Tom Colicchio’s prize-winning ‘wichcraft café. E|AB was founded in 1998 by Susan Inglett of I.C. Editions and Brooke Alexander Editions as the first, free public showcase for this affordable and cutting edge art form. To subsidize free admission, E|AB commissions an original lithograph for sale each year. This year’s print ($175 for an edition of 175) is by Marcel Dzama. Dzama’s ink and watercolor drawings have graced the pages of McSweeney’s, album covers for They Might Be Giants and Beck, as well as the walls of countless exhibitions including shows at the Museum of Modern Art, P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, the Drawing Center and the Art Institute of Chicago. In previous years, E|AB lithographs have been created by Raymond Pettibon and Allen Ruppersberg.
