NEW YORK, NY.- The Scope Foundation 501C3 will present two, unique events in a 2000 square foot tent connected to the SCOPE New York Pavilion at Lincoln Center, March 4-8, 2009. The SCOPE Foundation's mandate is to help emerging contemporary artists, through grants, awards, and acquisitions. The SCOPE Foundation creates the opportunity for everyone to be a philanthropist.

Cheap, Fast & Out of Control will enable participating artists to sell work in a wide range of disciplines with price points geared to everyone. The artists will be able keep 70% of the profits. Some of the work is made specifically for this event, which will also showcase live music and films.

"Artists are always being asked to donate artwork to benefits," explains organizer & artist, Lilah Freedland, lilah@scope-foundation.org. "This benefit puts the money directly in the artists' hands by giving them 70% of the sales, and auctioning skills and education rather than donated art" It's a novel idea. And the artists on board have a lot to offer.

The PDA, Personal Development Auction opening on March 4th and closing on March 8th at 5 pm will allow fairgoers to bid on things like a personal tour of the Harvard Vision Center, a welding lesson or an introduction to hydraulics. In addition, master screen printers, top chefs, pilots and financial consultants will be donating their time and skills to auction winners. The opening bids will be low, so finding out if you really want to weld won't break the bank.
