Andy Warhol Pops Onto Mobile...Finally!

MONTREAL.- Airborne Mobile Inc., a leading full-service mobile media company, today announced a license agreement with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. to bring the artwork of American master Andy Warhol to mobile. Mobile users will now be able to add a dash of panache to their handsets with a series of colorful mobile graphic products based upon the celebrated artist’s remarkable and highly provocative work.

A true 20th century icon, Warhol redefined traditional distinctions between popular culture and fine art with avant garde paintings such as Campbell’s Soup Cans, Disasters and Marilyns. His sophisticated sense of design and forward-thinking concepts made him an instant celebrity and he later enjoyed immensely successful forays into the milieus of cinema, television and publishing before passing away in 1987. Today, official Andy Warhol products can be found in trendsetting stores worldwide, continuing to inspire new generations and reaffirming Warhol’s place as the undisputed King of Pop Art. Warhol’s revolutionary reflection, “I believe media is art”, is exemplified in this creative collaboration between iconic paintings and everyday technology.

“I have a Warhol hanging at home” said Airborne President and CMO Andy Nulman, “so these new products are obviously close to my heart…and displayed on my phone.”

Airborne Mobile’s line of Andy Warhol graphics is available now on most U.S. and Canadian carriers.
