Seeking Wider Audiences, Six Museums Offer Special Benefits in New Fair-Chester Museum Alliance

NEW YORK, NY.- Six museums in Westchester and Fairfield counties have formed an alliance which will benefit arts enthusiasts throughout the region. Beginning Saturday, May 1, and continuing through the end of 2009, the Fairfield/Westchester Museum Alliance will offer free admission and a 10% store discount to members of all participating institutions – and for non-member visitors, a same-day free pass to all museums, when paying admission at any one of the six institutions. Members should present their membership cards for the free admission. The Fairfield/Westchester Museum Alliance’s new admission policy comes at no additional cost to members, offering convenience and symbiotic arts enjoyment to all.

The participating organizations are: The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield and Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut, the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art in Peekskill, Katonah Museum of Art in Katohah, and Neuberger Museum of Art in Purchase, New York.

With this partnership of neighboring cultural institutions, visitors can share in the rich artistic offerings of the greater community. “This is a wonderful opportunity to unite and expand our memberships, and to make the exhibitions and programs of each museum easily accessible to more visitors,” said Bruce Museum Executive Director Peter Sutton.

The highlights and hidden gems of each museum will provide an exciting and diverse exploration of the visual arts. “We want to encourage museum visitors who appreciate the arts to look beyond New York City and their own local borders,” said Katonah Museum of Art Director Neil Watson.

The museums of Fairfield and Westchester counties are known for offering outstanding exhibitions and programs to the communities they all serve. “This collaboration expands our service for visitors and is a definite value added for members especially in these times,” said Hudson River Museum Director Michael Botwinick.
