LONDON.- London based fashion photographer Steve Nyman's first exhibition in London is on view in Bermondsey Square.

Bermondsey Square is a refreshingly diverse scheme in the heart of London's hippest district. The first development of its kind in London, Bermondsey Square comprises 76 apartments, a locally run and managed art-house cinema - Shortwave, The Bermondsey Square Hotel and members' club by Bespoke, loft offices, a supermarket and a new restaurant and deli by Del'Aziz. All of this is set around a new public square that continues to host the long-established Bermondsey Antiques Market, and will become a destination in its own right.

Inspired by Bermondsey and the "Age of Glamour" Nyman has produced a series of black and white shots for the Bermondsey Square installation. Shot and styled in and around Bermondsey Village using clothes and accessories from local boutiques and shops, Nyman's reference is this unique area of London where old and new meet.

Steve Nyman commented: "The atmosphere of the area flowed in naturally with my usual black and white style to create these timeless motionless, dramatic photographs.

Without the support and enthusiasm of the Bermondsey Street businesses this exhibition would not have been possible."

Working with local businesses in Bermondsey Street Nyman used clothes from local boutique Pussy Willow, flowers from the Igloo florist, dog collars from pet accessory shop Holly and Lil, props from lifestyle / interiors store 167 Bermondsey, T-shirts and underwear from The Cockfighters of Bermondsey, shoes from eco shoe-store Terra Plana, dresses from Zandra Rhodes and hair was style by hairdresser Andrew Brown.

This is Nyman's first exhibition in London. He has previously exhibited in Greece, Paris and Israel. His work can also be seen in the 60's inspired prints in the nearby Bermondsey Square Hotel.

Based in South London, Steve Nyman has been working as a fashion photographer for many years working with a range of designers from established names like Oliver Goldsmith and Alexander McQueen to young up and coming designers such as Goldie London, Chica boutique, Boudoir and Hurwundeki.

Nyman works across the field from editorial to brochures and campaigns. He has produced a number of brochures for bespoke menswear designers Timothy Everest and Alexander Boyd, furniture designer Jimmie Martin and shoots for a number of independent boutiques around the world. In addition he shot recording artist Nate James for his recent album cover.
