MADRID.- From 16th to 21st February 2010,
Art Madrid will produce its 5th Edition at the Pabellón de Cristal de la Casa de Campo in Madrid. The fair is scheduled for 64 galleries selected among the most prestigious names of the national and international scene, and will show the work made by major contemporary artists.
The 64 galleries are selected by a new committee and will show works by leading contemporary artists. Among the Spanish galleries, excels the presence of May Moré, Estampa, Rafael Hernando Pérez, and Fernando Pradilla and Rayuela, from Madrid; the Galician Trinta and Marisa Miramon; the Canary Vegueta; the Andalusian Carmen de la Calle and and the Catalonian 3 Punts and Miquel Alzueta. It should be noted the presence of 9 Aragonese galleries, including Spectrum, Sotos and Antonia Puyó, who will attend the fair sponsored by the Government of Aragon and the Aragonese Contemporary Art Galleries Association.
The organization estimates that the fair will receive over 40,000 visitors.
Art Madrid will host for the second consecutive year, a space dedicated to emerging art as part of the Young Art program, which integrates young galleries and artists.
Moreover, the fair will work within the Official Program created for the Independence Bicentennial Commemoration of Latin American countries. For this reason, it will feature an exclusive space dedicated to this event, with an exhibition showing the work of emerging Latin American artists living in Spain.
Another innovation is the recent Art Madrid´s Collection with unique works on paper. Its goal will be original works on paper (not serial) by Contemporary Spanish artists.
Finally, Art Madrid 2010 will have a new VIP program for collectors.
