NEW YORK, NY.- An interactive time line documenting the design and construction of the Guggenheim Museum recently received attention from two organizations recognizing high-quality online content. Titled “Keeping Faith with an Idea,” the time line features previously unpublished archival materials such as letters, photographs, and films of the construction, as well as audio and video clips from structural engineers and architectural historians on the construction and architecture of the building.

The 2010 South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival—part of the internationally recognized music and media conference and festival—named ”Keeping Faith with an Idea” a finalist for an interactive Web award in the Art category. SXSW Interactive showcases outstanding Web sites, video games, and other online startup ideas. Web awards in categories such as Activism, Community, Educational Resource, Experimental, and Music will be announced on March 14. An online voting component allows the public to select their favorite sites in each category for the People’s Choice Award.

Commarts.com, the online component of Communication Arts magazine, a leading resource for visual communication professionals, is featuring the site as a “Webpick of the Week” beginning on February 19. According to Commarts.com, sites picked for this column are distinguished by “a combination of superior aesthetics, technical expertise, functionality, and overall site experience.”

An expanded portrayal of the events featured in the time line appears in the book The Guggenheim: Frank Lloyd Wright and the Making of the Modern Museum, published on the occasion of the museum’s 50th Anniversary.
