LONDON.- Alon Zakaim Fine Art announces the unveiling of their second Mayfair gallery this February. Alon Zakaim is highly regarded on the Mayfair art scene and is joining numerous prestigious galleries on Dover Street which is fast becoming a rival to Cork Street.
Featuring an exciting programme of exhibitions in a spectacular setting, the new gallery showcases the highest calibre of works by Impressionist, Modern and 19th Century masters. Dover Street also expands on the diverse programme of Zakaims Cork Street premises, including shows by the gallerys stable of Contemporary and 20th Century European artists.
Building on their established success, the new gallery, boasting over 2,000 square feet of exhibition space, launched with an opening show unveiling key works by artists who shaped the course of art history over the hundred years from 1880 to 1980. Beginning with paintings by Claude Monet, Alfred Sisley and Edgar Degas, the founders of Impressionism, the exhibition charts developments in the visual arts through Fauvists, Emile Othon Friesz and Kees van Dongen, to Modern masters such as Pablo Picasso, Jacques Lipchitz and Marc Chagall. Further important and powerful works influenced by, and taking reference from, these key figures highlight the fertile and invigorating atmosphere of this period.
With 18 years experience dealing in the highest quality works of art, Alon Zakaim is looking forward to the new possibilities afforded by the Dover Street gallery, bringing important paintings and sculpture to clients and public alike. Zakaim says, It has been a privilege to appreciate at first hand, and to have dealt in, some of the most influential works of the last two centuries. I eagerly anticipate bringing these works to a wider audience with our second gallery, and building new professional and personal relationships through the mutual appreciation of the artists in whom we deal. The Dover Street gallery offers an intimate setting in which to appreciate the subtleties of a wide array of artworks while providing space to present them in the manner they deserve.
Alon Zakaim Fine Art was first established on Cork Street in April 2006. Their location reflects the artistic heritage of the area, being the address of Peggy Guggenheims first London gallery, opened in 1938. Alon Zakaim Fine Art strives to maintain the status of its history by exhibiting highly acclaimed, top quality artworks and dealing in a broad range of periods from 19th Century to Contemporary. Recent notable sales have included museum quality paintings by artists such as Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, Gauguin and Picasso.
