LONDON.- Cass Sculpture Foundation has launched a free app to coincide with the opening of ‘Tony Cragg at Exhibition Road’. This user-friendly app provides detailed information about the sculptures on Exhibition Road and in the V&A, Natural History Museum and Science Museum in Central London. The app provides users with the chance to play a quiz and win prizes from Cass Sculpture Foundation and CASS Art.

Cass Presents: Tony Cragg at Exhibition Road is now available as a free download on itunes. The app will allow visitors to follow in Tony Cragg’s footsteps by incorporating Cragg’s own personal history with the surrounding environment, as the artist once studied at the Royal College of Art and used to frequent the surrounding museum collections. Users can choose to learn about the individual works by scanning a QR code, or playing the quiz. They may choose between two levels: ‘Fun & Fast’ for families and children, or ‘In-depth & Immersive’ for older students and artlovers. Visitors may upload their own images to create a unique app that reflects their own visit, which can then be shared with friends and family via e-mail, sms, Facebook and Twitter. All users can enter a free prize draw with the chance to win membership to the Cass Sculpture Foundation, a 20 year anniversary catalogue, or up to £100 in CASS art vouchers.

‘Tony Cragg at Exhibition Road’ is the first major exhibition in London of outdoor work by British artist Tony Cragg, consisting of five large-scale works along Exhibition Road and six additional works within the surrounding Victoria & Albert, Science Museum and Natural History Museum. Presented by Cass Sculpture Foundation, the exhibition has been developed in collaboration with the Exhibition Road Cultural Group (ERCG) and will be on display from 25 August to 25 November 2012 at Exhibition Road, London.

Tony Cragg was born in Liverpool in 1949. He studied art at the Gloucesteshire College of Art and Design and Wimbledon School of Art and he completed his studies at the Royal College of Art, a member of the Exhibition Road Cultural Group. In 1977, Cragg moved to Wuppertal, Germany where he continues to live and work. In addition to exhibiting his work internationally, Cragg is the Director of the Kunstakademie in Dusseldorf and has founded and operates a sculpture park in Wuppertal.
