NEWPORT, RI.- This July marks the seventh anniversary of the Newport Antiques Show. Returning to its seaside location, St. George’s School in Middletown, RI, the Show will run July 26th through July 28th allowing visitors to shop for a diverse selection of museum-quality antiques in one venue.

“This is a high quality antiques show, as impressive for a summer show as the area in which it is held—a beautiful location with Newport up the road,” explains Show Manager Diana Bittel. “There’s a great variety of dealers with quality inventories including fine art, antiques, jewelry, garden accessories, marine art, silver, ceramics, American, English and Swedish furniture, and early American wicker.” Over forty dealers will travel from across the country to exhibit during the three day event. “There’s really something for everyone,” Bittel concludes.

The loan exhibit, Windows on the Past: Four Centuries of Historic New England, highlights the artifacts and thirty-six historic sites that make up the museum’s collection and tells the rich stories of New Englanders across the region. The collections are from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, and from Historic New England's extensive library and archives and artifacts collections. Items include the delicate French marble and ormolu mantel clock from Barrett House in New Ipswich, New Hampshire; plus furniture, jewelry, photographs, ceramics, paintings, and glassware.

The Newport Antiques Show has received top reviews from leading publications. American Fine Art Magazine describes the Show as “Top-Level” and reported that the 2012 event was the “Best show yet.” Southern New England Living describes it as “One of the most highly anticipated events of the summer,” while SoCo Magazine states that it is “among the nation’s premier antiques venues.” The Gala Preview Party was reviewed as a “runaway success” by Palm Beach Daily News and NewportSeen.com raved that “The Show gets better, finer – and larger – every year.”

To date, the Show has raised over $1.2 million through ticket sales and sponsorship supporting Newport’s past and Newport’s future. While many upscale antiques shows are fundraisers for a non-profit organization, The Newport Antiques Show is unique as the only show of its caliber with two beneficiaries—The Newport Historical Society and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County.

The Newport Antiques Show opens with a Gala Preview Party on Thursday, July 25 (6pm to 9pm); admission tickets start at $150 per person. The Show runs Friday July 26, Saturday July 27 (10am to 6pm), and Sunday July 28 (10am to 4pm). General admission costs $15 per person or $20 for a three day ticket.
