BRUSSELS.- Galerie Daniel Templon, now in its forty-seventh year, is opening a new space in Brussels in autumn 2013.

The new gallery is located on rue Veydt and offers 220 square metres of space. It will primarily be featuring artists already represented by the Parisian gallery.

Young Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota (born in 1972, lives and works in Berlin) will be inaugurating the Brussels gallery in September with an in situ installation. This opening event will be followed by an exhibition from the master of contemporary sculpture, British artist Sir Anthony Caro (born in 1924, lives and works in London).

With over 400 exhibitions to its name, Galerie Daniel Templon has built up an international reputation and become one of the lead players on the contemporary art scene. The gallery space on rue Beaubourg in Paris has featured a great many artists who have gone on to make art history. The best known names include, from France, Arman, Daniel Buren, Christian Boltanski, César, Raymond Hains and Claude Viallat, stars of the American art scene such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Eric Fischl, Dan Flavin, Keith Haring, Donald Judd, Ellsworth Kelly, Willem de Kooning, Joseph Kosuth, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Julian Schnabel, Richard Serra, Frank Stella and Andy Warhol, British artists Jake and Dinos Chapman, Georg Baselitz and Jörg Immendorff from Germany and photographers Helmut Newton, Robert Mapplethorpe and Gregory Crewdson.

The gallery currently represents over twenty international artists, creating a dialogue between established artists such as Jim Dine, Jan Fabre, Gérard Garouste, Juliao Sarmento, Joel Shapiro and Tunga and younger artists such as Philippe Cognée, Ivan Navarro, Jonathan Meese and Kehinde Wiley. The gallery has also now turned towards the asian art scene, featuring Chinese artists Yue Minjun, Mao Yan and He An and Atul Dodiya, Jitish Kallat and Sudarshan Shetty from India.
