HOLLYWOOD, CA.- The Hollywood Museum hosts an exclusive exhibition in tribute to Marilyn Monroes 51th Anniversary Memorial. The exhibit is the largest exhibition of authentic Marilyn items spanning Monroes illustrious life. The exhibit includes a special exhibition of items from Scott Fortner The Marilyn Monroe Collection and The Greg Schreiner Marilyn Monroe Collection. The Hollywood Museum is located in the Historic Max Factor Building at 1660 N. Highland Ave at Hollywood and Highland.
Greg Schreiner is President and a founding member of Marilyn Remembered, the longest running fan club, and owner of The Greg Schreiner Marilyn Monroe Collection, one of the largest collections in the world. Marilyn collector Scott Fortner is the owner of Scott Fortner The Marilyn Monroe Collection and has lectured internationally about Marilyn Monroes legacy and life.
An exclusive event of the Marilyn Monroe Memorial Weekend at The Hollywood Museum is a special book signing with Authors Lois Banner, Douglas Kirkland and James Spada on Sunday, August 4 from 1pm to 3pm.
Lois Banner is an author and professor at the University of Southern California, who recently wrote Marilyn: The Passion and the Paradox, a book that takes you inside Marilyns life from her early childhood memories through her return to Hollywood.
Douglas Kirkland has worked for Look Magazine and Life Magazine throughout his photography career. He has also worked on many motion picture sets including, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Titanic, Moulin Rouge and Australia. Not only is Kirkland a photographer, but he has also written many books including An Evening With Marilyn, which includes a series of Marilyn, pictures shot by Kirkland, together with intimate details of the photo shoot.
James Spada author of Marilyn Monroe: Her Life in Pictures, is best known for his illustrated coffee-table books about Streisand, Robert Redford, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli, Katharine Hepburn, Bette Midler, Shirley MacLaine and Warren Beatty, and Jane Fonda.
The Marilyn Monroe Memorial weekend will culminate with the annual Marilyn Remembered Memorial Service, co-sponsored by The Hollywood Museum, at Westwood Mortuary on Monday, August 5, the anniversary of her passing. Marilyn fans from around the world are expected to attend all three events in Hollywood, California.
