WALWORTH, WIS.- Mecum Auctions will roll back into the Dallas Convention Center this Sept. 4-7 for the third year and the best one yet with an unprecedented lineup that boasts quantity and quality. Now featuring more than 1,400 classic and collector cars, the Dallas docket is chock-full of rare and desirable autos of an immense variety headlined by one of the worlds most collectible American sports cars a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88 Convertible.
The L88 (Lot S123) is one of several rare and highly optioned Corvettes and muscle cars offered from the Buddy Herin Collection. One of only 20 produced that year, the car was purchased specifically to hit the track and successfully did so as winner of the 67 NHRA A/Sports Nationals at Indianapolis. After years of campaigning, and more recently the recipient of a full Naber Brothers restoration, this rare, first-year L88 is offered for sale accompanied by extensive documentation including vintage racing photos and time slips from the drag strip. Others in Herins grand collection include one of only three factory Black on Black 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Z16s known to exist (Lot S128) as well as the only Red on Red 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 ever produced (Lot S127).
The offerings of this large and diverse auction are reflected in another collection set to cross the Mecum Dallas block. With nearly 30 classics and collectors spanning 80 years of production and a wide array of makes and models, foreign and domestic, the Michael Scott Collection truly embodies what the Dallas auction has grown to be.
Doors to the Dallas Auction will open each day at 8 a.m. Portions of all four days will be broadcast live on Discoverys Velocity Network, in addition to the live stream of the entire auction presented by Mecum at www.mecum.com. Mecums website is updated daily with the latest consignments including detailed descriptions and photographs of the vehicles.
