CHICAGO, IL.- Leslie Hindman Auctioneers’ October 14–15 Fine Furniture and Decorative Arts auction realized over $1.79 million. The sale saw competitive bidding across all categories, from clocks to furniture, on the telephones, online and in the saleroom.

A George II walnut bracket clock by Henry Jones sold for $146,500 on Monday with nine international phone bidders competing from England, Germany, France, and Canada. The clock finally sold to a New York bidder in the sale room.

The auction saw extraordinary prices throughout the two day sale and attracted bidding in every category from around the world. Demonstrating a strong demand for the finest quality objects, a lacquered commode sold for $42,500 to a buyer in Luxembourg, and a Mohtashem Kashan rug sold for $37,500 to a buyer in Germany.

Their upcoming 20th Century Decorative Arts auction is scheduled for October 23. They currently accepting consignments through December 20 for the February 10 Continental Furniture and Decorative Arts auction, and the February 12 English and American Furniture and Decorative Arts.
