NASHVILLE, TENN.- Julien’s Auctions announced The Collection of Country Music Superstar Naomi Judd featuring costumes and personal items from the award-winning singer/songwriter to take place on November 7 and 8, 2014 at the Julien’s Auctions Beverly Hills gallery. The collection includes a vast amount of custom made costumes and stage worn clothing from the career of Naomi Judd, along with personal items from the star’s own collection, and items from her husband Larry Strickland’s musical career with Elvis Presley.

Naomi Judd’s story is a heartwarming rags-to-riches tale of perseverance and positive thinking. The single mom and registered nurse from a small town Kentucky captured the hearts of the world performing with her daughter Wynonna. The Judds sold 20 million records, scored fifteen #1 hits and received more than sixty industry awards, including six Grammys and seven consecutive CMA Vocal Group of the Year trophies. Her musical career and place in country music history is legendary.

Throughout her career Naomi also charmed Hollywood and went on to become a New York Times bestselling author with her popular autobiography, “Love Can Build a Bridge.” The book chronicled her life from a sheltered middle class upbringing to survival as a single mother of two on the mountain tops of Kentucky to her rise to superstardom and then her forced retirement. The book also became the basis for a two-part NBC mini-series which starred her daughter Ashley Judd as herself. She has also authored other books including two children’s books.

In 1991, the incredible journey of the mother-daughter duo was cut short when Naomi was stricken with Hepatitis-C, a potentially fatal chronic liver disease that she contracted from an infected needle while working as a nurse. The Mayo Clinic gave Naomi three years to live, and in 1991, The Judds bid their fans farewell.

Instead of submitting to her devastating diagnosis, Naomi fought back, both physically and mentally. Today she is more than a survivor. She is Hepatitis-C free — a medically documented miracle.

Fans and collectors will have the opportunity to bid on stage worn costumes and clothing worn throughout Naomi Judd’s career. Her eclectic dresses, embellished costumes and fearless sense of style will all be center stage during the auction. From signature batwing sleeves to colorful rhinestone dresses and designer suits, the collection is a testament to Judd’s personal style and bright presence in the country music industry.

Among the many items being offered and certainly most sentimental is Naomi Judd’s wooden Thomas Model 217 “Norman Rockwell” 1920’s style replica radio from her personal collection. Before the Judds hit it big in Nashville, Naomi would listen to this radio with her daughters Wynonna and Ashley for entertainment in the hills of Kentucky. It is an unprecedented piece of country music memorabilia that had great importance to her and her family in the beginning of her career.

Costume highlights of the auction include a Naomi Judd TV Worn Velvet Gown from her appearance on “Bob Hope’s Bag Full of Christmas Memories (1993), a Naomi Judd custom-made stage worn embellished ensemble worn while accepting the Top Vocal Duet Award at the 1991 Academy of Country Music Awards, an iridescent turquoise sequin Naomi Judd Stage and CMA Awards worn ensemble (Badgley Mischka), The Judds Reunion stage gown and stage dress, a custom-made aquamarine satin dress worn by Naomi Judd circa 1999 with glass stones and organza ruffle trim, a group of custom-made costume pieces circa 1980 stage worn by Naomi and Wynonna Judd including a pair of gold satin stretch pants and black jersey top embellished with sequins, gold lame, tulle and velvet, a Naomi Judd awards ceremony ensemble worn by the artist to the 16th Annual American Music Awards in 1989 and an embellished sapphire blue satin dress worn by Judd to the 2009 CMT Music Awards in Nashville among many more.

Other highlights include a custom Buck Owens American guitar gifted to Naomi Judd painted in red, white and blue with additional stars on the headstock and a plaque mounted on the body which reads “Naomi Judd/Bakersfield California/3-28-87/Your Friend, Buck Owens.”

Also included is a collection of presentation belt buckles presented to Naomi Judd throughout her career, a Naomi Judd “Love is Alive” video worn dress, a Naomi Judd owned violin made by George Flagg of the Flagg Family Fiddle Fitters, an Elvis in Concert jacket belonging to Naomi’s husband Larry Strickland who sang with Elvis Presley’s Stamp Quartet featuring the TCB lightning bolt on the shoulder, a TCB Band and other musicians signed Epiphone acoustic guitar including Naomi Judd, who inscribed “Still in one piece” and accompanied by an original photograph, a Naomi Judd 26th Grammy Awards worn dress, the custom-made ivory silk gown worn by Naomi Judd while performing at Super Bowl XXVII in Atlanta, two pairs of Air Force coveralls and a leather bomber jacket owned by Naomi Judd, and her “Rio Diablo” period costume worn in the film (Kenny Rogers Productions 1993) which co-starred Kenny Rogers and Travis Tritt.
