Conception Gallery’s inaugural show ‘BRINK,’ will open for private press viewing, 7-9pm Wednesday, October 1st

Twenty visual artists tell their personal stories of being at the ‘BRINK’. Through powerful and thought provoking works, the artists share tales of despair, strength and courage.

The featured installation “Misappropriation of a Modern Artifact,” by NY Artists Eddie Rehm & Kenneth Ian Husband is a soul laid bare interactive reconstruction of their art studio. You the viewer will be faced with creativity, loss & a feeling derived viscerally by each artist. They have both shown nationally, garnered press, sales & collections respectively.

As we near the second anniversary of the devastating Hurricane Sandy, two artists, Eddie Rehm and Kenneth Ian Husband, both still displaced by the super-storm, share their journey. The storm rendered the two artists homeless. Without work or resolution from the government or their insurance companies, it totally displaced their lives & art careers. Rehm & Husband will share an installation of their original art studio that was ravaged by the storm. The installation offers the viewer an emotional insight, a visual beacon of the effects, struggles and hopes of two artists’ fight for survival, their struggle with resistance and the power of art on the ‘BRINK’.
