Tatyana Franck is currently Director of the Archives Claude Picasso.

LAUSANNE.- The State Council of the Canton of Vaud has appointed Tatyana Franck, the current Director of the Archives Claude Picasso, to the post of Director of the Musée de l’Elysée. She will officially take office on March 1, 2015.

The position of Director of the Musée de l’Elysée opened when Sam Stourdzé left the museum to take over the direction of the Rencontres Photographiques d’Arles on October 1, 2014.

Twenty-nine applications were examined by the Canton of Vaud’s Department of Education, Youth and Culture. At the end of the application procedure, when no candidate was selected, the State Counselor, Anne-Catherine Lyon, proposed, by appeal, the appointment of Tatyana Franck to the post of museum director as of March 1, 2015. While waiting for her duties to officially begin, she will start working on several subject matters.

Born on May 12, 1984, married, and a Swiss citizen living in Geneva, Tatyana Franck holds a degree in both Law and Art History (2006). She obtained a Master I degree in Business Law in 2007 (Université Paris I) as well as a Master II degree in 2008 (Université Lyon III) in Art Market Law. She is currently enrolled in the EMBA- Global Asia program (Executive Master of Business Administration), and will complete the curriculum in 2016. Since 2007, Ms. Franck has been the Director of the Archives Claude Picasso which include several thousand photographs. She is responsible, in particular, for the promotion of the photographic collection of David Douglas Duncan. Since 2010, she has curated several international exhibitions, including the traveling exhibition, Picasso at Work, Through the Lens of David Douglas Duncan. Tatyana Franck is also the treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation, a member of Sotheby’s European Advisory Board and the Board of Directors of the Amis de la Maison Rouge–Fondation Antoine de Galbert.

Tatyana Franck has presented a clear strategic vision for the future of the museum in terms of the management, enhancement and digitization of its photographic collections, as well as of the development of the museum’s presence on an international level. Her role as Director, at the helm of the museum’s team, is fostered by her ability and desire to develop the team’s know-how and commitment, while precisely formulating the priorities that she intends to set for the management of the institution. Combining both youth and maturity, Ms. Franck has shown her determination to meet the challenge of taking over the museum’s reins by throwing herself heart and soul into the development of the Pôle muséal project.

From now until she officially takes office, the interim will be ensured by the museum’s Board of Directors.
