’Swiss Series by Olivier Aeby’ in Hong Kong |

HONG KONG.- Jardine-Schindler and the Consulate Generale of Switzerland present ’Swiss Series by Olivier Aeby,’ a contemporary black and white photo exhibition of a timeless Switzerland. For exhibit goers in Hong Kong, much of them very familiar with Swiss watch brands, chocolate and army knives, this photo expose presents an interesting introduction to other aspects of Switzerland. Swiss Series is a powerful contemporary exhibition by artist, Olivier Aeby. He chose to exhibit in Hong Kong because the photos contrast with the “concrete jungle” and the heart of Hong Kong’s bustling business district---a place of perpetual movement. It will immerse viewers into nature’s peace and remove them from the fast-moving city. The portfolio consists of 40 black and white photos illustrating landscapes, scenic nature and ancestral traditions, ranging from the vastness of the fields to a look into ancestral traditions, including cow bells. Aeby’s approach is a fresh and crisp introspective journey into the “non-fanciness” of the countryside. He reveals Swiss nature and traditions preserved over generations which are still part of the present. For Aeby, it’s greener on the other side of Switzerland, where a valuable relationship between nature’s seasons and traditional ancestral skills help dispel the Swiss invariable stereotype of watches and chocolates.
