LONDON.- Malcolm Claridge is an established auctioneer and historian of 20th Century militaria, specialising in material from the two world wars and later conflicts, with a particular interest in D- Day, and the Second Indochina (Vietnam) War. He headed the Dreweatts - Bloomsbury militaria department for a number of years, holding regular sales in London, Newbury and Bristol.
With a profound knowledge of both military and social history, he has in the past catalogued and sold a great variety of fascinating objects which have ranged from Great War personal diaries, a pilots watch from the Battle of Britain, the last photograph taken of Florence Nightingale just before her death in 1910, to Queen Elizabeth Is saddle cloth from 1574.
Malcolm is also a keen writer, and most recently contributed to The Military History Book, by Penguin Books in which he wrote the medal and awards chapter. He is delighted to be joining the cooperative of specialists at Blythe Road, and comments I am very pleased to be joining Thomas and the team at 25 Blythe Road, where I hope together we can develop the increasing interest and market in 20th century militaria
