Lark Mason to preview important sale of Asian, Ancient & Ethnographic Works of Art during Asia Week
A remarkable Chinese Imperial Guard Embroidered Silk and Metal Ceremonial Uniform, circa 1910, in nearly new condition, is an astounding survivor from the tumultuous final years of Imperial China, a time of tremendous upheaval in the country. Estimate: $100,000/$150,000.



NEW YORK, NY.- Lark Mason, founder and president of Lark Mason Associates, has announced that more than 500 lots of important Asian art will be on view during Asia Week New York, from March 13 through March 20 at the iGavel headquarters, 229 East 120th Street, in Manhattan.

"Asia Week New York is the most important international Asian art event in the world," says Mr. Mason. "We are delighted to offer such an exemplary selection of important works of art from all the Far Eastern cultures, bringing them to the attention of Asian art collectors and aficionados." According to Mason, the sale goes live on igavelauctions.com on April 8th through April 22nd.

Among the outstanding works of art representing the breathtaking scope of Asian periods and disciplines, from the Sui dynasty through the 20th century are:

• Chinese Porcelain Doucai 'Daoist Emblems' Bowl, Yongzheng Mark and Period (Estimate: $100,000/200,000)

• A remarkable Chinese Imperial Guard Embroidered Silk and Metal Ceremonial Uniform, circa 1910, in nearly new condition, is an astounding survivor from the tumultuous final years of Imperial China, a time of tremendous upheaval in the country. (Estimate: $100,000/$150,000)

• A Rare 18th century Chinese Imperial Parcel Gilt Lapis Lazuli and Inlaid Gilt Bronze Table Screen from the imperial workshops, is decorated with a poem by the Qianlong emperor. (Estimate: $60,000/90,000)

• Nepalese Gilt Bronze Seated Figure of Uma-Mahesvara, Inscribed and Dated, 1355 AD (Estimate: $60,000/80,000)

• An 18th century Chinese Jade, Hardstone and Zitan Inlaid Box is a rare example of the finest Chinese workmanship, integrating hardstone elements with Zitan in a naturalistic design. It was in the collection of the director of the Peking Union Medical College, who received numerous gifts from members of the Imperial household during his tenure in the early years of the 20th century. (Estimate: $20,000/40,000)

• An 18th century Sino Tibetan Gilt Bronze Figure of Standing Avalokiteshvara, (Estimate: $10,000/15,000)
