LONDON.- London-based Carolyn Miner has been announced as the first Curator of The Line, a museum-quality art walk launching on 23 May 2015 in East London. The Line will bring modern and contemporary sculpture, exhibitions, site-specific commissions, video programmes, and billboard interventions to the paths along the many fascinating but under-appreciated waterways of East London. Miner takes up the post with immediate effect.

As Curator, Miner will oversee the display of The Line as well as exhibitions and public programmes, including lectures, screenings, and performances. Miner has previously worked in museums, at an auction house and helped set-up the research arm of the Creative Industries Federation. Most recently she was the Robert H. Smith Research Curator of Sculpture and Decorative Arts at the National Gallery, Washington D.C. and just completed editing the book The Eternal Baroque: Studies in Honour of Jennifer Montagu (Skira, 2015).

Miner has also worked as a Specialist at Sotheby’s London, as the Anissa B. Balson Research Fellow in the Department of Paintings and Sculpture at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and was a Research Associate in the Department of Sculpture at the J. Paul Getty Museum. Miner held various other research positions, including serving as an intern in the Department of Medieval Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and in the Department of European Sculpture and Decorative Arts at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. She has published articles and catalogue essays and lectured widely.

Miner is known for her creativity, wide-ranging interests, deep knowledge of art, and her commitment to engaging audiences.
