CULVER CITY, CA.- RM Sotheby’s, the world’s largest collector car auction house for investment-quality automobiles, announced David Swig has joined its expert team of global car specialists.

The son of respected California motoring enthusiast and automobile dealership pioneer, Martin Swig, David grew up immersed in a world of cars, both old and new. A true enthusiast, he actively participates in a variety of automotive events, including circuit racing, road tours and Concours d’Elegance. Each April, he and his brother, Howard, organize the California Mille historic sports car tour – a tribute to Italy’s famed Mille Miglia, and an event founded by their late father 25 years ago.

With a particular expertise in sports, sports racing and rally cars of the post-World War II period, David has spent the last half-decade in the field of collector car auctions, during which time he has participated in various lectures and panel discussions. His background also includes automotive journalism, having completed internships at both Motor Trend and Road & Track during his college years.

“We are delighted to welcome David Swig to the RM team as he embodies the spirit, professionalism and expertise we are known for as a company,” says Ian Kelleher, Managing Director of RM Sotheby’s West Coast Division. “David has extensive knowledge across a wide range of segments in the collector car world, and, like all members of the RM team, is a genuine enthusiast, fully immersed in the collector car hobby. He will be a key member of our West Coast division as we further integrate with Sotheby’s on a corporate global level.”

On joining the world’s largest collector car auction house, Swig comments: "I have admired RM Sotheby's great successes over the years and have been impressed not only with the company's ability to achieve superb results, but with their top-notch venues and customer service. I'm thrilled to be joining the RM Sotheby's team and look forward to being a part of this dynamic organization."

Comprised of 22 individuals worldwide, RM Sotheby’s team of dedicated specialists is the largest in the collector car industry. Collectively, the group offers more than 500 years combined experience buying, selling, racing and restoring, making them uniquely qualified to advise on all aspects of the hobby. Their knowledge, commitment to the client, and proven ability to locate the world’s finest motor cars and then find engaged and ready buyers, is unsurpassed in the industry.
