HONG KONG.- Tiancheng International Jewellery and Jadeite Spring Auction 2015 concluded with triumph tonight, realising nearly HK$300 million/US$38 million. With 85% of total value sold and 74% of lot sold, the sale is led by eight lots soaring above HK$10 million. The jadeite section and western jewellery section achieved an astonishing sold rate of 83.7% and 85.4% respectively.
The top lot of the auction belongs to Lot 128 the impressive Jadeite and Diamond Demi-parure ( Estimate: HK$25-30 million/US$ 3.2-3.85 million). Bidding opened at HK$18 million, the refined demi-parure was hammered at HK$25 million, which eventually sold to a phone bidder for HK$29.5 million/US$3.78 million including the buyers premium. This Jadeite and Diamond Demi-Parure comprising eight intense emerald green jadeite cabochons. Of captivating translucency, every cabochon emanates spectacular sheen, with size measuring up to 20.31x 17.13 x 9.73mm. It is extremely exquisite to match eight full-bodied cabochons of similar size and luminous saturation. Accentuated by a total of 73.55 carats dazzling diamonds, this demi-parure showcases a perfect marriage of Chinese and western culture, making it an astonishing treasure of impeccable quality.
Another star item named Eternity of Love, a 25.72-Carat Heart-shaped D Colour VS2 Clarity, Excellent Polish and Symmetry Diamond Ring. Followed by an intense bid battle, the exquisite diamond ring was sold for HK$ 24.78 million/US$ 3.18 million including the buyers premium. Eternity of Love is cut and polished from a 67.45-carat diamond rough. Its substantial 25.72-carat weight complements a minimalist heart-shaped design to provide a symbol of unyielding love that endures the test of time. This diamond has an excellent polish and symmetry, with D-colour and VS2 clarity, possesses a bright, pristine look that inspires love at first sight.
The Flare of Crimson, a 52.22-Carat Natural Unheated Mozambican Pigeons Blood Ruby and Diamond Necklace is also sought-after by connoisseurs. Beginning at HK$15 million and followed by a total of 7 furious bids, the necklace was eventually hammered at HK$ 21 million, and was sold for HK$24.78 million/US$3.18 million including the buyers premium. Heightening the necklaces aesthetic charms is a subtle jewellery design, where 22 rubies totaling approximately 52.22 carats are accentuated by sparkling D-colour diamonds with a combined weight of approximately 59.60 carats, to evoke a lavish beauty and sophistication.
